Originally published in 1974, this eleventh volume of Adrienne von Speyr’s Posthumous Works gathers texts about the life, mission, and theology of Saint Ignatius of Loyola, with whom Adrienne’s own thought and existence were intimately bound up. As Hans Urs von Balthasar writes in his foreword, “the most important point needing to be seen here is this: The center of Adrienne’s theology, the ‘key’ that unlocks it, is the mystery of Holy Saturday,” which could open to her only through the radical experience of Ignatian obedience that forms the main theme of the present book.
