This second part of volume I of Adrienne von Speyr’s Book of All Saints (1977) is structured differently from the first. In addition to portraits of individual saints, it also offers comparisons between several saints as well as some general considerations on sanctity and the communion of saints. In particular, it contains texts on the interconnection between holiness and humiliation, an examination of the existential readiness of selected saints, and a series of meditations on the absolute “Yes” of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This volume is chronologically the last of Adrienne’s Posthumous Works to be published and so also contains appendices to the earlier volumes.
